Guineans tactically better-Yusuf

Despite Nigeria's 2-0 win over Guinea in the qualifying series of the African Yo u t h Championship, Libya 2011. aspiring Nigeria "Football Federation (NFF) President, Dr. Tijani Yusuf says the Guineans are tactically better than the Flying Eagles.


Yusuf told Sports Compass in Abuja immediately after the match that it was very obvious that the Guineans were far better tactically than our boys. Though I don't have the statistics for each player but collectively, they play more as a team. It's very evident that the 2nd leg in Conakry will be difficult for both teams to advance."


The former Nigeria Football Association (NFA) secretary- general now a university lecturer however, called on the NFF to start approaching the country's subsequent matches scientifically and employ a renown psychologists for the national team.


He said: "There is no doubt today that football is scientific. There is need for us to apply science to our preparation for our matches There is no two ways about it. Football science consists of so many things we cannot continue to sit down and watch how other nation progress and we continue to slide backward.


"Of course with science and a sound psychologist in our team, with our inherent skills and power, the sky will be our limit."


He called on the Flying Eagles handlers to intensify their effort towards making sure that they brace up for the stiff opposition the Guineans will present to the country in the 2nd leg.
