MINISTER of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Senator Bala Mohammed, has extolled the virtues of the late Emir of Bauchi, Alhaji (Dr.) Suleiman Adamu, describing him as a great leader who worked tirelessly for the peace, unity and progress of Bauchi State and the country as a whole.
The minister, who is part of President Goodluck Jonathan’s entourage to the African Union summit in Kampala, the Ugandan capital, cut short his trip to the East African country to return home following the demise of the emir.
He commiserated with the Bauchi Emirate, the entire people of the state and, in particular, the family of the late monarch, who died in the early hours of Friday at the Cairo International Medical Centre, Egypt.
The FCT minister, who holds the prestigious traditional title of Kauran Bauchi and is also a son-in-law to the late emir, described his death as a great loss not only to the people of the emirate and Bauchi State but to the whole country.
